
Shoo-Fly-Wet-Bottom Pie
this makes 2 (TWO!) 9" pies, so you need:
Two 9" single unbaked pie shells
Crumb Topping
4 C flour
1 C brown sugar
1/2 C salt
1 C shortening or margarine
Wet Bottom
2 C molasses
2 C cold water
2 tsp baking soda
1 egg, beaten
mix crumb ingredients together with a fork until crumbly
combine wet bottom ingredients, add 1/2 of the crumb mixture to the wet molasses mixture.
Pour into crusts.
sprinkle remaining crumb topping on top.
bake at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 375 and bake for 30 minutes more.
